Tom Campbell, a physicst, is author of the three volume set, My Big TOE, describing a meta-theory that offers an account of the paranormal, as well as other scientific mysteries. Here he describes the evolutionary process by which the one, absolute and undivided consciousness expanded itself to create the world we experience. He claims that humans are individuated units of consciousness and are part of the larger consciousness system. He also explains why he believes that artificial intelligence systems may already be conscious.
