Leanne Whitney | The Feminine in Depth Psychology and Yoga Philosophy | Aug. 8, 2025

Source: New Thinking Allowed with Jeffrey Mishlove youtube, leannewhitney.com

Description:
Leanne Whitney, PhD, is author of Consciousness in Jung and Patanjali. She is a transformational coach and also teaches yoga philosophy to yoga teachers. Her website is: leannewhitney.com

Here she describes the feminine as a psychological and spiritual principle that is not necessarily correlated with gender. (She describes New Thinking Allowed as embodying the feminine principle.) She notes that mother is associated with matter and earth godesses. Masculinity is associated mythologically with spirit and with sky gods. In yoga philosophy the feminine is associated with prakriti, a sanskrit work denoting anything manifest. Perusha is associated with masculinity and denotes the unmanifest consciousness.
