The Destruction of Julian Assange: The Big Picture

“What we are seeing right now is a full spectrum push against anything alternative. Their war against so-called fake news — the ultimate irony, since they have always been the main purveyors of a fake reality. What they don’t understand, or seem to anyway, is that when the legacy mainstream media fails us again and again and again, that organizations like WikiLeaks will arise. People like Chelsea Manning and Edward Snowden and Julian Assange will step up because, thank God, we still live in a world where there are brave people with integrity and who are willing to fight for the rest of us.

…They exist because the system we live in cannot help but create them. As long as we live in this new form of creeping totalitarianism, this system will produce resistance like that. This is a fight that is far from over. And the voices for freedom and human decency and the right to investigate your own government — those voices live on and they will not be silenced.”~ Richard Dolan

SPECIAL REPORT ON NATIONAL SECURITY STATE CENSORSHIP!

Bill Binney (former NSA) on the Arrest of Julian Assange | Apr. 11, 2019

Source: larouchepac.com

Julian Assange was arrested at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London today for failing to show up in court in London in 2012, and pursuant to a previously sealed, March 2018 indictment from the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Virginia. That indictment charges him with conspiracy with respect to Chelsea Manning’s leak of secret and sensitive information to WikiLeaks, which published Manning's material, later covered and republished by the Guardian, the New York Times, Der Speigel, and El Pais. Assange announced through his attorneys that he would fight extradition on the indictment.

There are a handful of uncompromised people who know something about the leak of the DNC and John Podesta emails to WikiLeaks. That leak is at the center of the Russiagate hoax the British have conducted against Donald Trump, the United States, and Russia. Those people are Assange, who insists the materials did not result from a Russian hack, former Ambassador Craig Murray, who says he received a USB stick from an insider source in the United States and got it to Wikileaks, and former NSA Technical Directory Bill Binney, who has performed independent forensic studies of the DNC files and found them consistent with a leak but completely inconsistent with a hack conducted by Russian military intelligence over the internet, as claimed by Robert Mueller.

Do you think that if Robert Mueller could prove Binney wrong, he would have hesitated to indicting Assange for conspiracy? More likely, this is a late move to limit what Attorney General Bill Barr will be allowed to investigate and it should be called out for what it is: a coverup. -larouchepac.com

WikiLeaks is raising €100,000 reward for the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership 'TTIP' | Aug. 11, 2015

Source: wikileaks.org

WikiLeaks goes after hyper-secret Euro-American trade pact

Today WikiLeaks has launched a campaign to crowd-source a €100,000 reward for Europe’s most wanted secret: the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).

Starting pledges have already been made by a number of high profile activists and luminaries from Europe and the United States, including former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis, esteemed UK fashion designer and environmental campaigner Dame Vivenne Westwood, US journalist Glenn Greenwald, veteran Australian film-maker and investigative journalist John Pilger, Belarusian philosopher and theorist Evgeny Morozov, Pentagon Papers whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg and WikiLeaks editor-in-chief Julian Assange.

Since it began to face opposition from BRICS countries at the World Trade Organisation, US policy has been to push through a triad of international "trade agreements" outside of the WTO framework, aimed at radically restructuring the economies of negotiating countries, and cutting out the rising economies of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS).

The three treaties, the "Three Big T’s", aim to create a new international legal regime that will allow transnational corporations to bypass domestic courts, evade environmental protections, police the internet on behalf of the content industry, limit the availability of affordable generic medicines, and drastically curtail each country’s legislative sovereignty.

Two of these super-secret trade deals have already been published in large part by WikiLeaks - the Transpacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) and the Trade in Services Agreement (TISA) - defeating unprecedented efforts by negotiating governments to keep them under wraps.

But for Europeans the most significant of these agreements remains shrouded in almost complete secrecy. The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), which is currently under negotiation between the US and the European Union, remains closely guarded by negotiators and big corporations have been given privileged access. The public cannot read it.

Today WikiLeaks is taking steps to ensure that Europeans can finally read the monster trade deal, which has been dubbed an "economic NATO" by former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Using the new WikiLeaks pledge system everyone can help raise the bounty for Europe’s most wanted leak. The system was deployed in June to raise a $100,000 bounty for the TTIP’s sister-treaty for the Pacific Rim, the TPP.

The pledge system has been hailed by the New York Times as "a great disrupter", which gives "millions of citizens... the ability to debate a major piece of public policy," and which "may be the best shot we have at transforming the [treaty negotiation] process from a back-room deal to an open debate."

 WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said,

"The secrecy of the TTIP casts a shadow on the future of European democracy. Under this cover, special interests are running wild, much as we saw with the recent financial siege against the people of Greece. The TTIP affects the life of every European and draws Europe into long term conflict with Asia. The time for its secrecy to end is now."

Massive leak of TISA trade documents “highlights madness of secrecy” | June 3, 2015

Source: world-psi.orgwikileaks.org/tisa

The largest ever leak of negotiating documents from the controversial Trade in Services Agreement (TISA) highlights the madness of secrecy and provides no comfort for users of public services.

Seventeen separate secret documents were released today including working papers and nine critical annexes on sensitive sectors such as financial services, postal services, maritime, domestic regulation, telecommunications, professional services, and labour migration.

The latest leaks highlight the cat and mouse game being played by the nations negotiating the TISA. A large part of the negotiations is now in the public eye yet there is still huge uncertainty about the actual consequences of the negotiations as understanding the full implications requires the whole text.

Wikileaks today released secret draft text from the Trades in Services Agreement. Fronting themselves as the ´Really Good Friends of Services,’ a group of 50 countries—representing an estimated 70 per cent share of the world’s trade in services—are secretly negotiating the TISA. The TISA will restrict a government’s right to regulate stronger standards in the public’s interest. For example, it will affect environmental regulations, licensing of health facilities and laboratories, waste disposal centres, power plants, school and university accreditation and broadcast licenses. The proposed deal will also restrict a government’s ability to regulate key sectors including financial, energy, telecommunications and cross-border data flows.

The TISA will specifically limit the ability of governments to regulate the financial services industry at exactly the time when the global economy is still recovering from a crisis caused by financial deregulation. Read more at: world-psi.org

'Important changes coming' - Assange's friend, Aug. 18, 2014

Source: RT.com

Julian Assange plans to leave the Ecuadorian Embassy in the near future, he told a press conference at the embassy's London compound, where he's been holed up for two years. The WikiLeaks founder gave no further details.

"I am leaving the embassy soon, but perhaps not for the reasons [reported]," he told journalists, refusing to clarify what his reasons are.

Speaking at the conference, he recounted the ordeal of having to hide from prosecution in a case where for four years no charges have been leveled. This has led to a serious deterioration of his health, including heart problems.

He listed a host of reasons he believes to be at the center of the injustice taking place in his situation.

"Throughout this entire time I have not been charged," he spoke. "Europe is meant to be a place where the rule of law is respected, where basic rights are respected... but somehow a situation has developed where basic rights that we have previously universally accepted are no longer respected."

The whistleblower continues to flatly deny any rape allegations, which have not been backed up by any formal charges.

Ecuador's Foreign Minster Ricardo Patino was was also present at the conference to defend Assange. He spoke of the continuing efforts on the part of Assange's legal team and the govenrment of Ecuador to bring the situation to a close in a manner that satisfies both the Ecuadorian and the Swedish legal systems. However, they have not come to fruition.

He saw Assange's stay at the embassy as "two years of great uncertainty and lack of justice for everyone," because, while "the effective legal protection of [the whistleblower] has been breached" and no progress was made in the case, the same was true for the Swedish women who are the alleged victims at the other end.

"We continue to be ready to talk to the British and Swedish governments," Patino said. But "It is time to free Julian Assange, it’s time for his legal rights to be respected."

One of the whistleblower's closing remarks was to question exactly what kind of legacy US President Barack Obama would like to leave. -RT.com

Democracy Now! | Exclusive: Inside Embassy Refuge, Julian Assange on WikiLeaks, Snowden & His New Bid for Freedom, July 7, 2014

Source: democracynow.org, wikileaks.org

In a Democracy Now! exclusive, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange joins us from Ecuador's embassy in London. It is the first time a U.S. news program has gone inside Assange's place of refuge, where he has entered his third year in political asylum while he faces investigations in both Sweden and the United States.

In the United States, a secret grand jury is investigating WikiLeaks for its role in publishing a trove of leaked documents about the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, as well as classified State Department cables. In Sweden, Assange is wanted for questioning on allegations of sexual misconduct though no charges have been filed. Late last week, there was the first break in the latter case in two years, when a Swedish court announced it would hold a hearing on July 16 about a request by his lawyers for prosecutors to hand over new evidence and withdraw the arrest warrant. In the first of a two-part interview, Assange discusses his new legal bid in Sweden, the ongoing grand jury probe in the United States, and WikiLeaks' efforts to assist National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden.
