There's no relief in sight for the tens of thousands of people living in Russia's Far East battered by the worst flooding in more than a century. Water levels have already broken a historical record for the region and are expected to reach the peak only by the middle of the week. Around 30 thousand people have already been evacuated by emergency services and authorities say this could be just the beginning. The Washington Post has revealed the National Security Agency has broken privacy rules or overstepped its legal authority thousands of times each year since Congress granted the agency broad new powers in 2008. According to an NSA audit from May 2012 leaked by Edward Snowden, there were 2,776 incidents in the preceding 12 months of unauthorized collection, storage, access to or distribution of legally protected communications.
In one case, the NSA intercepted a "large number" of calls placed from Washington when a programming error confused the U.S. area code 202 for 20, the international dialing code for Egypt. The audit only counted violations committed at the NSA's Fort Meade headquarters and other facilities in the Washington area. Dear readers, subscribers and fellow truth-seekers.
It is with a heavy heart and blurry eyes that I bring the sad and shocking news to you that Kevin Smith, a very dear friend to both James Horak, myself and many others throughout the truth community, has last night left us to journey on this mortal plane alone…. You are sadly missed my friend.
As many of you will be aware, Kevin had a heart attack 3 days ago and after having a stent put in was sent home from hospital yesterday… (a bit too early perhaps). Last night he died, leaving the rest of us and his family reeling in shock at loosing him so soon after such a close call.
If it were not for Kevin, this blog would not exist. He introduced me to James Horak and the rest, as they say, is history….
Kevin, we are all devastated by your death, leaving a gaping hole not only in the lives of those who loved you but the wider community as a whole. You are (I can’t bring myself to say were just yet) a shining light of no-nonsense truth and wisdom, laughs and chuckles, thought provoking questions and open minded discussion on matters of great importance.
As I sit here and write this through blurred eyes and tear stained face, I cannot help but wonder and hope that you are now in a place in the Sun or an EMV, now aware of ALL that is, ever was and ever will be and chuckling your little socks off. Save those of us who love you a seat for when we eventually join you.
Until then we will honor your memory and dedicated hard work to continue to openly speak the truth about matters that affect Humanities and this Planet’s tenuous future.

Bradley Manning apologized for leaking classified documents to WikiLeaks during his sentencing hearing on Wednesday. Manning faces up to 90 years in prison after being convicted last month on 20 counts. He said: "I am sorry for the unintended consequences of my actions.
When I made these decisions, I believed I was going to help people, not hurt people." Manning added, "I understood what I was doing and the decisions I made. However, I did not truly appreciate the broader effects of my actions. Those effects are clearer to me now through both self-reflection during my confinement in its various forms and through the merits and sentencing testimony that I have seen here."
An Army psychologist who analyzed Manning while he served in Iraq also testified Wednesday, along with a clinical psychologist who spent 21 hours examining Manning after his arrest. As a U.S. Intelligence Asset, Susan Lindauer covered anti-terrorism at the Iraqi Embassy in New York from 1996 up to the invasion. Independent sources have confirmed that she gave advance warning about the 9/11 attack. She also started talks for the Lockerbie Trial with Libyan diplomats. Shortly after requesting to testify before Congress about successful elements of Pre-War Intelligence, Lindauer became one of the first non-Arab Americans arrested on the Patriot Act as an "Iraqi Agent". She was accused of warning her second cousin, White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card and Secretary of State Colin Powell that War with Iraq would have catastrophic consequences. Gratis of the Patriot Act, her indictment was loaded with "secret charges" and "secret evidence." She was subjected to one year in prison on Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas without a trial or hearing, and threatened with indefinite detention and forcible drugging to shut her up. After five years of indictment without a conviction or guilty plea, the Justice Department dismissed all charges five days before President Obama's inauguration.

NAPLES, FL - A video showing lights hovering over a pool is the talk of Naples. Residents say they have never seen anything like it -- and experts aren't sure either.
Monday night, security officer Debralee Thomas was watching the camera feed from behind a Gulfshore Boulevard condo building just across the street from Venetian Village, when she noticed strange lights swoop in over the pool.
"I realized that it was something that wasn't normal, so I was like 'oh my, what is that,'" Thoma said.
At first glance, what she saw almost looked like a saucer-shaped object up top. Then the object went down into the pool and expanded like a web -- moving back and forth.
After nearly thirty minutes, the object started to disappear.
Thomas said bugs fly up to their cameras all the time, but this was further away.
"It was down on the ground but some of that webbing was longer and it made a funnel down into the pool. Whatever it was doing in the pool, I don't know," Thomas said.
The video was sent to MUFON, a UFO organization in Ohio. Officials at MUFON say it is one of the most fascinating videos they have seen in a while.
They are analyzing it, but they don't think it is a hoax. That's what Thomas' coworkers thought at first, until they saw the video their selves.
"We watched it on tape and to be honest I was so grateful that it was there so I could say it was real…it really happened," Thomas said.
On Wednesday, residents were walking in and out of the office complex to check out the must-see video.
"I have no idea. I've never seen anything like this. The electrical charges coming from it, it's truly unbelievable," said resident Curtis Kate.
But what it is remains a mystery for now. Something Thomas is OK with as long as it doesn't happen again.
The Conservancy of Southwest Florida also looked at the video. Coincidentally, the pool is closed for cleaning over the next few days. -nbc2.com

A Japanese official says the Fukushima nuclear plant is leaking some 300 tons of highly radioactive water into the Pacific Ocean per day.
On Wednesday, an unnamed official said the Japanese government believes the contaminated water has been leaking into the ocean for two years, Reuters reported.
The statement comes after Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe vowed to step up government efforts to solve the problem.
Abe ordered Japan's minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry to deal with the crisis and to make sure the plant's operator Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) appropriately handles the cleanup process, which is expected to take more than 40 years.
The cleanup process is also expected to cost USD 11 billion.
Meanwhile, head of Japan's Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NRA) Shinji Kinjo said the leaking contaminated groundwater is "creating an emergency."
Reports also say the amount of contaminated water seeping into the Pacific Ocean could rise soon.
The official also said that Tokyo plans to reduce the leakage amount to 60 tons a day by December.
On March 11, 2011, a nine-magnitude earthquake triggered a tsunami that inflicted heavy damage on the six-reactor Fukushima plant. The cooling systems of the plant's reactors were knocked out, leading to meltdowns and the release of radioactive material.
On July 24, TEPCO admitted that the Fukushima site's reactors were leaking highly contaminated water into the Pacific Ocean, after steam was seen at one of the reactors.
Last July, a Japanese parliamentary panel found that the incident at the Fukushima nuclear plant had been a "man-made disaster" and not only a result of the tsunami.
