Military analyst Larry Johnson joins Dr. Zulfiqar Ali from Russia to explain the mechanism almost no one is reporting: roughly 70% of US refineries are configured for heavy and sour crude, the grades that used to arrive from Russia, Iran, Venezuela and the Persian Gulf. Those inputs are gone. You cannot make diesel from crude your refinery was not built to process — and no strategic reserve holds finished diesel.
